TestCenter is a system designed for functional and performance testing in today’s converging networks. Spirent TestCenter is composed of hardware and software components that enable customers to reduce testing costs by accelerating functional and performance testing.  Service providers, network equipment manufacturers and large enterprises use Spirent TestCenter solutions to evaluate devices and network configurations in development, QA, and production environments.

Ethernet Switchů Testing

Spirent TestCenter enables test engineers to reduce test cycles using wizards and IETF RFC-compliant default settings. One application has all the integrated test methodology wizards required for successful testing in a lab environment. Using the RFC 2544 and RFC 2889 wizards, users can compare the performance of different devices or different traffic types flowing through a device. RFC 2544 also allows combined control plane and data plane testing in the same application, which further speeds and simplifies the testing process. Automated tests, which are based on IETF RFC 2544 and RFC 2889, quickly deliver pass/fail results so users can isolate a fault on a switch automatically, so users don’t have to create their own test plans and proprietary scripts.

Spirent TestCenter supports all core technologies required to test enterprise/ metro routers including QoS, IPv4/IPv6, routing, multicast, MPLS, spanning tree, VLAN, VLAN stacking and DHCP.A robust suite of protocol emulations allows the user to test nearly any metro Ethernet configuration including VPLS-LDP, VPLS-BGP, PWE/Martini, RFC 2547-bis and 6PE for IPv6.The GUI also includes a number of visualization and real-time troubleshooting tools, such as an OSPF topology editor, protocol event log and integrated capture/decode to help users find and diagnose issues without having to stop the testing process to change tools.

The Spirent TestCenter IPTV and video quality test solutions enable users to emulate IPTV services at varying subscriber loads, create different client profiles for different types of behavior, measure such key parameters as channel change times and video quality (V-Factor), and analyze detailed statistics about the service’s performance.
