DLS 5500 Series

The DLS 5500 Noise Impairment System is a Programmable Noise Impairment System designed specifically for DSL applications. Designed for testing ETSI and ANSI equipment up to 30MHz (VDSL2), the DSL is also complementary product to the DLS 5000 and 8000 series products.

The DLS 5500:

• Provides for a complete xDSL physical layer simulation when combined with DLS wireline simulators
• Uses DLS 5Bxx packaged noise files
• Custom noise files generation
• Noise files generation with ETSI compliant crest factor

DLS 5504

Real world noise such as cross-talk , RFI, impulse and white noise has a dramatic impact on the performance of modems and DSLAMs The DLS 5504 provides all the impairments specified by the leading specifications and is able to apply them via Spirent noise injection systems in either differential or common modes.

The DLS 5504 offers:

• Four noise outputs
• Can easily be configured for laboratory and production testing of IDSN, HDSL, SHDSL, SDSL, ADSL, ADSl2, ADSL2++, VDSL, and DLS
• Forum’s TR-048 & TR-067 interoperability specification
• Precision testing with the ability to generate impairments with a crest factor 5 or greater

DLS 5404 Noise Injector

The DLS 5404 conditions input signals from Spirent's DLS 5500 Series xDSL noise generators, and applies them to simulated or real wirelines. It also offers a hardware combination capability, allowing users to combine two independent noise inputs into one output. The DLS 5404 enables the user to inject different noises simultaneously on both ends of the wireline simulator, and offers the bandwidth needed to support both ADSL2++ and VDSL applications.

Does not affect xDSL wireline characteristics beyond simulating real world noise conditions while meeting ANSI, ETSI, ITU-T, NTT and DSL Forum xDSL noise injection output impedance requirements for noise.

• Users can combine two independent noise shapes generated by the DLS 5204 into one output
