Multi-protocols analyzers - LE-x500

Multiprotocol analyzers for serial and async interfaces like RS-232C, RS-422/485, X.20/21, RS-449, RS-530, V.24 and V.35. Offers Logic Analyzer function for delay analysis of bit level, simulation features and a range of optional modules for measurements on other widely used interfaces. Continuously records communications log data on a CF card.

Further product information.

LINEEYE battery-powered protocol analyzers incorporate Monitoring, Simulation and BERT functions required for development of communication instruments and analysis of communication failures. Multi-protocol support including ASYNC, HDLC and X.25 with optional support TTL, I2C, IrDA, CAN, LIN and Current Loop by using Expansion kits.

Multi-Protocol Support is Provided as a standard Feature

LE-x500-E comes standard with measurement interface for RS-232C (V.24) and RS-422/485 (RS-530) standards. X.25, RS-449 and V.35 require only a dedicated cable.

Expansion kits

Protocols of differing hardware specifications are supported by simply changing the measurement board. Simply pull out the interface board from the measurement unit and replace it with an expansion board for another protocol.

Long Recording Time with autosave

The auto save function makes it possible to continuously save Gbytes of data. It automatically saves the content of the capture memory on a high capacity compact flash (CF) card. And it continuously saves data into the measurement log of a user-specified file size, using ring recording as long as the card has space. In addition, it is useful for identifying rare communication failures of the unknown cause.

Logic Analyzer Analysis And Signal Voltage Measurement

Communication line timing is analyzed and displayed as a logic analyzer display to a time resolution of max. 50ns. This function helps to identify the problems with hardware.

PC Link

Use measurement data on PC via dedicated application. PC connection can be established via serial cabel through the COM port or via USB port and LAN connections via LINEEYE SI-60 converter, thus enabling remote measurement by multiple analyzers connected at the same time. It also allows you to browse measurement data saved in memory card and convert data

Online Monitoring

The online monitor feature records communications data in the capture memory and provides an easy-to-understand display for the type of protocol, without affecting the communication line. Analyzers record not only communications data but the time (time stamp) of transmission and reception as well as idle time. Therefore, failure time and timeout status can be checked. In addition, it is available for the trigger function which detects specific communication conditions and for the recording function to select the specific address frames which helps you to effectively use the memory

Simulations

With the simulation feature, protocol analyzers act as the counterpart to the target device and perform transmission and reception tests according to protocol. Even in the early stages of development when matching devices are not available, tests can be run at near to actual operating status. After performing the step-by-step check of the communications protocol in the analyzer's own original MANUAL mode, the developer can create a simple program to branch conditions using the menu selection and test more complicated communications protocols.

Communications speed can be freely set. Therefore, margins can be evaluated by intentionally shifting communications speed, and error response processing can be checked using test data that mixes in data with parity errors.

BERT Measurements

BERT support enables you to measure transmission quality of communications lines by a loop-back or interactive connection. It is possible to measure evaluation parameters (bit error count, block error count) conforming to ITU-T G.821 Notification, hence enabling bit error rate evaluations and fault point identification. Elaborate test patterns and functions such as bit error forced interrupt are comparable to dedicated equipment.
