Spirent presents performance and reaches ADSL lab test solution, combining the DLS 414/DLS 8234 line simulators with a DLS 5500 noise generation system and a Spirent TestCenter Traffic Generator/ Analyzer system. This system, which builds on proven high accuracy and realistic cable simulation technology and the DLS Series high accuracy technology, provides a seamless Layer-1 test platform for DSL flavours, including ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, ADSL2++, VDSL and VDSL2.

The system enables highly accurate and repeatable test results, not only between different sets of test equipment but also between different test labs.

The Reach Test system allows IC Manufacturers, NEM’s and Service Providers the ability to determine the performance of integrated ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, ADSL2++, VDSL, VDSL2 style modem/ DSLAM products. This is achieved by varying the length of the cable in small increments, applying different noise impairments, and measuring the bit error rate.

Spirent’s integrated system enables simulation of the real-world environment. This provides the user with a high level of confidence in determining the performance of these modems/DSLAMs over long reaches.
