The APx is a dedicated audio analyzer that is ideal for R&D and production test users who need speed and ease-of-use.

Audio Precision currently offers the following models of APx:

• APx520 - 2 input and 2 output analog channels
• APx525 - 2 input and 2 output analog channels + digital input/ouput
• APx521 - 4 input and 2 output analog channels
• APx526 - 4 input and 2 output analog channels + digital input/ouput

The multichannel APx models are designed specifically for power amp and consumer electronics manufacturers for use in R&D and production test, with multiple channels, Dolby®/ DTS® confidence testing, multitone analyzer or input regulation.

All APx users are given a large variaty of testing tools for effective measurement in the audio field like multitone analyzer, FFT (1024k points), Measurement Recorder for long-term measurements, IMD testing functionality, High and Low pass filters etc.

HDMI Support

With the APx HDMI option, engineers can now use the same tools to measure HDMI audio quality and audio format compatibility on devices such as surround sound receivers, set-top boxes, HD TVs, and DVD & Blu-ray Disc™ players.

The new APx HDMI option for the APx585 includes a fully compliant HDMI 1.3A Source and Sink interface that can generate and analyze test signals in real time on up to 8 channels. On the input (HDMI Sink) the APx will accept an HDMI signal and analyze the audio content. All standard audio measurements are available including level, SNR, distortion, phase, crosstalk, group delay and others. Generated video formats and HDCP encryption can be toggled to test for effect on embedded audio. Multiple signal paths can be defined to test all input and output variations (HDMI input to speaker output; SPDIF input to HDMI output etc.).

DSIO support

The Digital Serial I/O option adds a multichannel digital serial interface to the APx500 series of audio analyzers. This provides a direct connection to chip level interfaces such as I2S and supports all popular serial interface formats including left justified, right justified, and DSP. In addition the option supports TDM or multiple data line configurations for up to 8 channels of audio data.
